My Beaufort, Sabah Town Tour

Beaufort, Sabah is famous for its Pomelo fruits (  柚子; yòuzi  ), which are featured as 3 large sculptures in the centre of the town.

How to get to Beaufort, Sabah Town:-

Beaufort Town can be reached by taking a train ride, taxis, buses
or mini vans operate between
Kota Kinabalu to Beaufort, serving 
Papar, Kimanis and Bongawan
along the way to Beaufort...


Get to Beaufort by Train :

The long stretches of Railway Network
from Tanjung Aru Railway Station to Beaufort Station 
the fare is Rm4.80 for one way.
The departure schedule : Monday - Saturday 7:45am,
                         Sunday 1:35pm
Return from Beaufort : Monday - Saturday 9:55am,
                    Sunday 10am

Get to Beaufort by Road:

 Driving to Beaufort is quite straight forward and the road 
condition is good. From Kota Kinabalu to Beaufort is
96.5km, and it takes about 1 hour 36 minutes to reach.



Beaufort still has several rows of two-storey wooden shops
which gives Beaufort Town a rustic look..


and the beauty of pigeons sitting on the wire lines...





with shophouses built high above the roads to avoid
the periodic floods of the Padas River (Sungai Padas)..



that makes Beaufort Town a special look and feel..



There are many new buildings around Beaufort Town too,
 tall buildings and housing estates are booming in the
nearby Beaufort Town...


In the near future, Beaufort Town will be prosperous
and it is a very good opportunity to do investment,  the
3 large sculputures of Pomelo in the centre of Beaufort Town
which brings in the chinese food symbolism of Pomelo to as
abundance and prosperity....also..


Travellers may have to stop-by Beaufort Town for one of the several reasons:-

to enoy a train ride,

to white-water rafting at the Padas River,

to continue journey to Sipitang, Lawas...

or

to an open-air market, (locally known as tamu, is held
weekly on Friday evening until Saturday afternoon.) 

Local produce such as fresh fruits, vegetables, fresh meat
and live poultry are sold at the tamu.
